NC assails PDP-BJP for unprecedented power, drinking water crisis in Jammu

JAMMU: National Conference on Monday expressed serious concern over unscheduled and long power outage in the entire Jammu province and blamed the PDP-BJP coalition for subjecting people to worse kind of harassment during the ongoing scorching summer season. “The proponents of ‘Acche Din’ seem to have declared power holiday for Jammu region while taking time out to cool their heels in the Kashmir Valley”, the NC leaders said in a joint statement, adding that lack of political direction has rendered the administration in shambles. The NC leaders came down heavily on the PDP-BJP Government for failing in meeting the basic requirements like power and drinking water and questioned its tall claims about difference in governance. While seeking regulated power supply, the National Conference leaders sought deployment of tankers to cater to the needs of areas which are facing acute drinking water crisis. The NC leaders ridiculed BJP for playing politics over public sentiments and exploiting people on emotive slogans and plunging the state into unprecedented crisis. Besides Provincial President Devender Singh Rana, signatories to joint statement included former Ministers Surjeet Singh Slathia, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Abdul Gani Malik, Sajjad Kitchloo, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy, Senior Leaders Rattan Lal Gupta, Th Kashmira Singh, Th Rachpal Singh, Dr Kamal Arora Aijaz Jan, Bimla Luthra, Master Noor Hussain, Babu Ram Paul, Brij Mohan Sharma, Qazi Jalal-ud-Din, Dr Chaman Lal, Deepender Kour, Satwant Kour Dogra, Vijay Laxmi Dutta and Jagjeevan Lal.
