Natrang’s ‘Jashn-e-Jammu & Kashmir’ begins in North East

AGARTALA: ‘Jashn-e-Jammu & Kashmir’- the biggest cultural festival opened here this evening at Rabindra Centenary Centre, Agartala (Tripura-North East).
Organised by Natrang Jammu this mega festival showcasing the diverse cultural traditions of the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir is supported by North-East Centre of Central Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi. This festival is scheduled to be held in two more cities of Tripura. Conceptualized, designed and directed by Balwant Thakur who is also popularly known as the cultural ambassador of Jammu and Kashmir, this magnificent show of world class kept the audience spellbound through highly energetic and innovative performances.
Introducing to the elite of Tripura State, Balwant Thakur said that it has been his life’s ultimate mission to project this positive aspect of the state world over by demonstrating the unparallel cultural strengths of the state.
“It took over five years to devise a highly professional presentation by packaging the entire culture in one capsule presentation featuring Kashmiri, Dogri, Ladakhi, Gojari, Pahari, Balti and Bhadarwahi cultures,” he asserted.
Starting with vibrant Kashmiri ‘Rouf’, the programme transports the audiences to a most rejoicing journey of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, unfolding spectacular dance traditions of Kashmiri, Dogri, Gojari, Pahari and Ladakhi cultures. The programme culminates through the presentation of a mega performance ‘Unity in diversity of J&K’, exclusively designed and composed to portray the harmony and the cultural co-existence of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The artists who created history for projecting the cultural legacy of J and K in Tripura included Rakesh Kumar, Sunny Mujoo, Ankush Bhasin, Aarti Slathia, Shazia Batool, Geetanjali Khajuria, Vinay Sultan, Anil Sharma, Deepak Kumar, Jyoti Kumari, Asha Kotwal, Jyoti Raina, Naina Sharma, Bindia, Saloni Verma, Saroj Manhas, Khushi and Simran Kaur. The sound was designed by Mohammad Yaseen and the lights were designed and executed by Suraj Ganjoo.
