National Seminar on Dogri Lok Sahitya- Samkaleen Samikarn

JAMMU: Post Graduate Department of Dogri, University of Jammu in collaboration with Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi organized two-day National Seminar on Dogri Lok Sahitya- Samkaleen Samikarn.
Prof. Desh Bandhu, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest, who inaugurated the seminar whereas Prof. Narender Mohan, Retd. Professor, Delhi University was the key-note speaker of the inaugural function.
On this occasion, Dr. Om Goswami was presented Bal Sahitya Award of Sahitya Akademi for the year 2016.
Dr. Devender Kumar Davesh, Officer on Special Duty, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi highlighted the objectives of the seminar.
Prof. Narender Mohan, Retd. Professor, Delhi University discussed in detail the relevance of Lok Sahitya in present day society life-style and society as well.
Earlier Prof. Lalit Magotra, Convener, Dogri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi threw light on the importance of this seminar and shared with the audience that more such type of seminars will be conducted on different topics in future also. Prof. Parmeshwari Sharma presented vote of thanks.
After the inaugural session there were two paper-reading sessions chaired by Prof. Champa Sharma and Prof. Veena Gupta respectively. In first paper-reading session Dr. Sushma Sharma and Dr. Om Goswami presented their papers on topics “Dogri Lok Geeten Ch Nari Vimarsh and Dogri Lok-Kathen Ch Nari Vimarsh respectively and Mohan Singh was the discussant.
In second paper-reading session Prof. Ashok Khajuria, Prof. Shiv Dev Singh Manhas and Dr. Joginder Singh presented their papers on topics Dogri Lok Kathen Ch Nari Vimarsh, Dogri Muhavaren te Kahavaten Ch Nari-Vimarsh and Dogri Lok-Sahitya Ch Sati-Paridrishya respectively and Padamshree Dr. Jitender Udhampuri was the discussant.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Poonam Kumari, Research Scholar of the Department.
