National Pollution Prevention Day only enlightened citizenry from schools can be harbinger of hope & change agent: Principal JKPS Kunjwan

JAMMU: “Sooner or later, we will have to recognize that the Earth has rights too, to live without pollution. What mankind must know is that human beings cannot live without Mother Earth, but the planet can live without humans”. With such an impactful statement from Eva Morales, Shirij Uppal and batchmates kick-started the morning assembly on the occasion of National Pollution Prevention day at JK Public School Kunjwani.
Adding more substance to the discussion, Avneet Kour stated, “Pollution should never be the price of property. National Pollution Prevention Day aims to highlight importance of controlling pollution and encouraging industries and individuals to adopt measures to minimize environmental impact. Pollution is mixing of dirty and harmful material into pure thing which causes adverse effect on both environment and living things. Pollution can be of many types like air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution and soil pollution. It is our moral duty to follow good step to reduce pollution.
In the segment Quotations, Shivam Sharma quoted Dan Quayle and stated, “It isn’t pollution that is harming the environment. It’s the impurities in our air and water that are doing it”. Aanaya Sharma sought refuge in Barack Obama while said, “We are the first generation to feel that full effects of climate change and the last generations that can do something about it”.
Bhavin Jangral quoted Juliana Moore, “Air pollution is terrible for our children. Every single scientist, every single doctor will tell you the same thing: Air pollution damages our children’s brains, their hearts and their lungs”. Ridhi Kandpal quoted Father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi, “Earth provides enough to complete a man’s need but not greed”. Avneet Kour quoeted Barry Commoner, “Environmental pollution is an incurable disease. It can only be prevented”.
Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore applauded the students of Grade 4th Galaxy for making the audience brood over seriously on the topic and shared his perspective by saying, “Instead of making big statements, let’s take some meaningful resolutions to mark this day. Let’s commit to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Let’s respond to the earnest need of the hour: Energy conservation. Adopting green transportation will help us in a big way. Participation in a Clean-up drives and Eco-friendly practices will fetch us great dividends”.
He appealed students, “Dear students, let’s take a pledge today to reduce the use of polythene bags in our home. Kindly remain watchful and ensure that your parents carry a cloth bag/jute bag with them while they proceed towards vegetable/fruit market, as in the absence of a cloth bag, people bring a dozen of polythene bags home, carrying vegetables/fruits. Ask your parents to wash, dry and arrange veggies in smaller cloth bags in the refrigerator. Keep exploring possibilities to protect our planet.
