JAMMU: President, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri on Saturday appealed to Prime Minister to announce and release the pending installment of six per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) due from 1st January this year in favour of both Central and State Government employees at next union cabinet meeting.
In a memorandum sent to Narendra Modi on Saturday, Shastri said that salaried class was facing a lot of economic hardships due to high inflation and price rise and the early release of DA would be genuine measure to provide some relief to them.
The delay in the release of DA would not only put burden on the central government exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of employees and pensioners, he said.
