National Lok Adalat held at Rajouri

RAJOURI: A National Lok Adalat pertaining to all types of cases was held at District Court Complex, Rajouri under the Chairmanship of Jaffer Hussain Beg (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge, Rajouri) in which two benches were constituted.
First bench was headed by Kusoom Lata Pandita ( Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Rajouri) assisted by O.P Thakur ( Chief Judicial Mobile Magistrate Rajouri). Second bench was headed by Meyank Gupta ( District Judicial Mobile Magistrate(T), Rajouri assisted by Manzar Khayam (APP, CIM Court Rajouri).
Similar benches were also constituted at Tehsil Level which were headed by the Presiding Officers of the respective Courts.
A total No. of 186 cases both Pre-Litigation and Post-Litigation cases were taken up. Out of 186 Cases, 111 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs.8,59,550 was settled. From the court of Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajouri& Additional District & Sessions Judge Rajouri, 27 MACT Cases were taken up, out of which 27 were settled and an amount of Rs. 34,20000 was awarded as compensation. Total amount awarded was Rs. 4279,550. In this National Lok Adalat, representatives of Banks, Advocates of different Insurance companies, Bar Members, Para Legal Volunteers, Staff members and Litigants participated.
