SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) on Saturday condemned the assassination of a Sarpanch, Ghulam Ahmed Bhat in Bomai, Sopore and said that such acts of cowardice cannot subvert democracy and peace in the State. Expressing condolence on the demise of Ghulam Ahmed Bhat, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said that National Conference stands in solidarity with the family of the deceased in this hour of loss and prays for peace to the departed soul.
“These acts will not subvert democracy or empowerment in J and K. One fails to comprehend how anyone can base their cause or ideology by killing a 65 year old innocent man for having different political beliefs. We express our heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family and pray for peace to the departed soul”, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar added.
