Namaz posture resembles with Yoga Aasan, says Ghulam Ali

JAMMU: Muslim Rashtriya Manch National Co-Convenor, Ghulam Ali Khatana has released a booklet on Islam and Yoga here at Press Club, here on Friday.
Talking to reporters, Ghulam Ali Khatana said, “Yoga is mere an exercise and nothing to do with any religion”. He further said that the posture of ‘Namaz’ resembles with the eight Aasan of Yoga.
Elaborating further, he said the released booklet has been composed by Abhijeet Singh and Imran Choudhary scholars from Jamia Milia Islamia University Delhi besides Abhijeet Singh got numbers of awards on Islamic Research by Aligarh Muslim University.
He added that as per the research of Abhijeet Singh mentioned in this book, there is immense resemblance of Namaz and Yoga. He mentioned that there is no link between Yoga and any particular religions and citizens of the India should practice Yoga as it gives a health way of life.
Ghulam Ali also appreciated the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for International recoganization of Yoga and now the same is accepted by the International community including majority of Muslim nations.
Ghulam Ali disclosed that on International Yoga Day i.e. June 21, Muslim Rashtriya Manch shall organize special programmes at district level Yoga in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.
He appealed to the people from different sections of the society to participate in Manch’s special programme on International Yoga Day.
Among others who were present at press conference were Sheikh Bashir Ahmed vice president J&K, Manzoor Ahmed Badana Provincial President, Ghulam Nabi Khan Incharge Doda and Gulshan Organizational incharge J&K.
