JAMMU: State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) on Thursday caught a Naib Tehsildar red handed while demanding and accepting bribe for implementation of order passed by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur in a land dispute case.
A SVO trap team, led by Dy SP Kartar Singh, caught Virender Kumar, Naib Tehsildar Kulwanta Ramnagar, resident of Ward No 8 Mohalla Phalla Ramnagar in the presence of independent witnesses while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000 from one Kunj Lal for implementation of order passed by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur in the land dispute case between the complainant and his sister, namely Perma.
FIR15/2016 under Section 5(2) of J&K P.C Act was registered and the Naib Tehsildar was arrested while investigation into the case has been set in motion.
