Naib Tehsildar booked for illegal transfer of land to his mother-in law
JAMMU: A Naib Tehsildar posted in Akhnoor has been booked for illegally transferring a piece of land measuring 10 kanals in favour of his mother-in-law. The accused in connivance with some revenue officials and private persons is alleged to have tampered the records.
FIR 24/14 has been registered against Surinder Kumar, son of Rattan Chand, the then Patwari Halqa Manda, Akhnoor (now Naib Tehsildar Maira Mandrian, Akhnoor) and other Revenue officials of Akhnoor alongwith Rita Devi, wife of Dwarka Nath, Dwarka Nath, son of Mali Ram, Jagdish Kumar alias Jagga, son of Sansar Chand, Anu Keshi, wife of Jagdish Kumar and Rajinder Sharma, son of Ganesh Dass under section 5(1) (d) r/w/ 5(2) J&K P.C. Act Svt.2006 and Section 167 & 120-B RPC.
The case has been registered after verification, conducted by Vigilance Organisation, established that Patwari Surinder Kumar, in connivance with the revenue officials, had transferred 10 kanals Shamlat Deh land falling under Kh. No.631/609, situated in village Dasgal, Akhnoor, in the name of his mother-in-law Rita Devi, wife of Dwarka Nath, by involving dummy buyers and sellers without handing over the physical possession of the land and had affected two mutations in the revenue record, thereby abusing his official position and conferring undue benefit upon the beneficiary.
