Nagar Kirtan procession taken out to mark Parkash Utsav

R S PURA : A huge Nagar Kirtan scattered over half a kilometer road was organised in Simbal Camp under the aegis of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Dera Nagali Sahib Poonch on the occasion of 348th Parkash Utsav of 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji on Sunday.
The procession of Nagar Kirtan which started from Simbal Camp passed through number of villages, treaded over Jammu – RS Pura road, crossed Miransahib town and finally culminated in Gurdwara Indira Nagar.
The holy Guru Granth Sahib Ji was kept in a specifically structured and highly decorated vehicle followed by number of Raagi Jathas reciting Gurbani Kirtan. The devotees including men, women and children recited Shabad and Nam-simran. Ahead of the vehicle having Holy Guru Granth Sihib, walked Panj Piyaras traditionally attired holding swords, followed by troops of scouts and contingents of school children in different uniforms. In the fore-front the Sikh youths displayed the martial art – Gatka and number of daring acts. A large number of archs were erected enroute where people served tea, sweets, fruit and other eatables. At different stops the religious scholars addressed the Sangat and described the contributions and the sacrifices made by Guru Gobind Singh Ji for the cause of nation and humanity.
