MVD intensifies drive against violators of traffic rules

JAMMU: A team of Motor Vehicles Department headed by Regional Transport Officer, Jammu Pankaj Bhagotra laid special Naka at different locations of Jammu City on December 15 and 17, 2022 for violating the various visible offences under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989.
During the Commencing week, the Enforcement Drive was carried out at different locations of Jammu Pathankot national highway. Nearly 160 vehicles, which include Buses, Tippers, Trucks and School Buses, were checked for various offences viz. Route Permit violations, Overloading, Over speeding, protruding of Rods and without SLD, out of which 54 vehicles were challaned/Compounded.
An amount of Rs. 2.20 lakh was realised on spot and Rs 3.18 lakh is expected to be recovered for the remaining challans.
The enforcement team comprising of Esha Chib ARTO(P), Pawan Sharma ARTO(G), Tara Mani Sharma, ARTO(Flying Squad), Motor vehicles Inspectors Rajeev Kundal, Anupam Gandotra and Ranjeev Bhasin.
