JAMMU: In connection with Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Parakash Diwas, the Cultural Wing of Information Department organised a cultural programme in collaboration with Model Academy, B C Road in its auditorium, here today.
On the occasion, Chairman Model Institute of Education and Research (MIER) Dr. Arun Kumar Gupta was the Chief Guest while Dr. Renu Gupta presided over the function.
Joint Director MIER Dr. Adit Gupta, Principal Model Academy Dr. Chitra Mishra, Cultural Officer, Information Department Raman Joshi besides other dignitaries of MIER in large numbers enjoyed the 2-hour long cultural programme.
In his address, Dr Arun Gupta said Music plays a vital role to ease stress.
Gupta thanked the Information Department for organizing cultural programme in Model Academy on the eve of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birthday.
He also requested the Information Department to organise such programmes in future also. He said such type of programmes not only provide entertaining atmosphere to the audience particularly students but also provide them some moments of enjoyment.
The artists of Information Department who presented a scintillating cultural programme which enthralled the audience included Jeevan Sharma, Vijay Anand, Sunil Sharma, Zulikha Farid, Palvi Koul, Yash Pal Yash, Khem Kumar, Surjit Singh Sumbaria and Bunty Kumar.
The students of Model Academy also presented, Shabad, Chatorang prepared by Amarjot, Rock Band leaded by Anmol Jaswal and its Choir group.
The two-hour long programme was compared by Cultural Coordinator Model Academy, Amarjot Kour.
Later, vote of thanks was presented by Music Teacher of MIER Yash Pal Yash.
