Mughal Road to remain open from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM

SHOPIAN: Deputy Commissioner Shopian, G. M. Dar, on Monday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements being put in place for winters in the district.
The meeting reviewed the preparedness for winter and snow clearance arrangements in the district.
The DC directed the mechanical wing and Executive Engineer R&B to maintain sufficient number of snow cutting and clearance machines and establish a control room at district headquarters so that all important roads can be cleared in case of snow fall. The Executive Officer municipality was directed to gear up men and machinery for clearance of snow in lanes.
The DC asked the Executive Engineer Mughal Road Division Shopian and ARTO Shopian to regulate the flow of traffic movement on Mughal Road and ordered that vehicles should be allowed to ply on the road only between 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. only. He also directed the Executive Engineer PDD to keep sufficient buffer stock of transformers so as to meet any contingency. The DC was informed by the officials of FCS&CA that they have received 17300 quintal of ration for the winter out of which 1500 quintal ration has been lifted and dumped at godowns and assured that remaining ration will be lifted within next few days for further distribution to the people.
