Motor rally under SVEEP organised in Rajouri

RAJOURI: Aimed to encourage people for maximum participation in the ensuing Assembly polls in Rajouri District, which will go for voting on 20th of December under last phase of polls, a motor awareness rally comprising of around 200 motor vehicles under Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was carried out by district election authorities in border district Rajouri. Awareness rally started from new bus stand situated near Salani Bridge and was flagged off by District Election Officer, Jitendra Kumar Singh who was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Saleem Malik nodal officer of SVEEP in the district. The passenger vehicles that took part in the rally were sent on different routes of the district including Thanamandi , Darhal, Kotranka-Budhal , Nowshera and Manjakote carrying and spreading the message for voting. Meanwhile the private and light motor vehicles including two wheelers present in the rally were sent towards inter-town routes including Gujjar Mandi and Old Bus Stand.
All vehicles in the motor rally carried banners and pamphlets with them with the objective to aware people about the positive aspects of healthy voting percentage and also to encourage them to vote in maximum percentage on 20th December.
While addressing the gathering during flagging off ceremony of the motor rally , District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, J.K Singh said that district election authorities are organising such awareness programmes under SVEEP and more of such kind will also be held in the upcoming days. He also asked all the people present in the motor rally to act as ambassadors for spreading awareness among the common masses for healthy participation in the polling.
Among others Ad.SP Rajouri, Tejinder Singh, CMO Rajouri, Dr. Rajiv Sharma, ARTO Rajouri, Shami Sharma, CEO Rajouri Abdul Hamid Fani and RO Rajouri, Yougesh Kesar were also present during the flagging off ceremony.
On the other hand a similar SVEEP Programme was organised in Sub Division Kalakote which was presided over SDM Kalakote who was accompanied by Tehsildar, BDO, CDPO Kalakote and other officers.
The function witnessed massive participation of Anganwadi workers and Gram Rozgar Sevaks of block Kalakote and locals of the area.
Besides this, an awareness programme under SVEEP was held in Degree College Thanna Mandi wherein SDM Thanna Mandi Ashwani Kumar, SDPO Ad.SP Surjeet Bhagat, Tehsildar Ab. Khabir, BDO Narinder Raina, College Officials and a number of students took part.
