Mothre’s milk-the best
Dear Editor,
World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated from August 1 to 7 annually to raise awareness regarding breast feeding which can reduce infant mortality to a great extent. It is necessary for mothers to get timely support and healthcare education. Breastfeeding by mothers for their babies in the first six months is important to get incredible health benefits. At the same time most mothers are not keen to breastfeed due to societal discomfort.
The objective of the celebration of world breastfeeding week is to allow health workers, including child development project officers, lady supervisors and families to understand the ground reality of health and welfare of mothers and infants and provide the support to them as breastfeeding is nature’s gift.
