JAMMU: To lodge protest against failure of the BJP led NDA Government, activists of Youth Congress on Tuesday organised a protest to highlight total failure of Union Government on all fronts.
The protest was organised especially on the day when Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was in Jammu to address various functions at Katra.
Led by PYC Chief Pranav Shagotra, the Youth Congress activists gathered at Press Club Jammu and raised slogans against Modi led Government at the Centre for its anti-people policies. They also burnt the effigy of Narendra Modi.
Addressing the activists, Pranav Shagotra lambasted the Union Government for befooling the people by re-launching the welfare schemes, which were earlier launched by the Congress led UPA regime. He said that BJP led NDA regime has done nothing for the last two years except lip services and false promises.
Reminding the workers about promises made by the BJP leaders, especially Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during election campaign in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Shagotra said that Prime Minister had promised to bring back black money but two years have been passed but nothing has been done in this regard. “Issue of black money was raised only to hoodwink the innocent people”, he said and alleged that BJP led NDA Government is hobnobbing with those who have huge black-money.
Pointing towards firing on the International Border (IB) in Samba sector on the eve of Prime Minister’s visit to Jammu, PYC President said that promised made with border residents remained only on papers. He said that except promises nothing has been done to ensure security and safety of border inhabitants. He reminded the BJP leadership about promise of providing alternative land to border residents at safer places.
