Model Academy felicitates meritorious students

JAMMU: Model Academy, the school of MIER, on Saturday organised a felicitation ceremony to honour the students of classes 10th and 12th for their stupendous academic performance in the Board Examination for session 2016-17.
The occasion was made special by the presence of proud parents of the awardees.
Dr. Adit Gupta, Director MIER and Rupa Gupta, Management Representative were the respective Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour for the ceremony.
Other dignitaries who attended the ceremony were Pramod Srivastava, Principal, Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal, J.K Dhiman, Administrative Officer and Controller of Examination, Jasleen Mohial, Manager Academics and Manju Vali, Convener, Co- Curricular Committee.
Students of class 11th were also present to encourage and applaud the achievement of their classmates.
The programme started with the traditional lighting of the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana by the Choir group. Principal Pramod Srivastava expressed his happiness over the spectacular result of the students and exhorted them to carry on with the pursuit of excellence.
He laid emphasis on regularity to school and stressed upon the parents to offer holistic education to the students and refrain from compromising on standards.
Dr. Adit Gupta, Director MIER congratulated the toppers in different streams and urged them to spend more time on self study rather than on tuitions.
He further stressed that students must dedicate themselves fully towards studies and not be affected by distractions. He further assured that the school management will provide all the necessary help to the students for achieving higher accolades in life. Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, Dr. Arun Gupta and Dr. Renu Gupta congratulated all the meritorious students and stressed that there is no shortcut to success and untiring efforts, clear goals, self confidence and firm determination can only bring success. Dr. Adit Gupta honoured thirteen students of 10th and two students of class 12th with trophies.
Speaking on the occasion parents of the toppers expressed their elation and gratitude towards the faculty and management of the school.
The programme was compered by Manjari Sehgal, Manager Academics, Senior Wing.
