JAMMU: Mock drill exercise scheduled for Thursday has been postponed. According to sources, the Civil Defence Exercise “Operation Shield,” scheduled for May 29, 2025, has been postponed due to administrative reasons. There will be no blackout or mock drill to be conducted on Thursday.
The government decided to carry out a civil defence exercise on Thursday in all districts of states and Union territories adjoining the border from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat — on how to face air raids from enemy aircraft, drones, missile attacks among others.
According to sources, the Directorate General of Fire Service and Home Guards had conveyed that the civil defence exercise “Operation Shield” will be carried out in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana and Chandigarh. However, the mock drill scheduled for Thursday has been postponed.
