MLZS observes World AIDS Day

SAMBA: To observe the World AIDS Day, Mount Litera Zee School (MLZS), Tarore Bridge, organized a Walkathon and Nukad Natak at various places of Jammu and Samba.
Near about 120 students along with the teachers participated in this walkathon on the theme “Run against AIDS”.
Students made beautiful posters and banners depicting the mode of transmission of disease, cure of disease, preventive measures and declaration of rights by Supreme Court for healthy living of the AIDS positive patients.
The walkathon was flagged off by Sheetal Nanda, Deputy Commissioner, Samba from DC Office Samba which after passing through main Samba and Vijaypur Bazaars culminated in the school premises.
Speaking on the occasion, she said, “We came to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, its prevention and treatment”.
While addressing to the students she also urged upon them to leave no stone unturned in spreading the awareness among the masses regarding HIV/AIDS.
Director MLZS Rahul Kapoor and the Principal Sundeep Arora also participated in this walkathon along with the staff members.
A Nukkad Natak was also performed by the students at DC Office and later on at Bari Brahmana, Main Chowk, Trikuta Nagar, Mini Market and in front of Monika Super Market, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The students spread awareness among the local people about AIDS, its causes, prevention and its control through play and mimicry items.
The play threw lights on the various modes and routes through which we can get infection of HIV/ AIDS and what to do to check this deadly disease. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by the Principal Sundeep Arora .
Mementoes were also presented to Rafeeq Manhas, SDPO Gandhi Nagar and Chandan Gupta, Proprietor Monika Super Market, Gandhi Nagar. The event was encouraged and appreciated by Dr. A.K.Kapoor, Chairperson MLZS, Rahul Kapoor Director MLZS. Speaking on this occasion, they congratulated students and teachers to make this awareness programme a successful event.
