MLC takes stock of developmental activities in BGSBU

RAJOURI: To improve the functioning of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Member Legislative Council and State Vice President of Bhartiya Janata Party Advocate Vibodh Gupta took up various matters with Vice Chancellor and Registrar of the University besides visited University Polytechnic and demanded fixing of fees of the courses at par with other polytechnics functioning in the state.
Advocate Gupta visited Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University where he met Vice Chancellor Prof Irshad Hamal and Registrar Mohd Rashid Choudhary and took up various matters related to university and assured full support for the overall development of the institution.
Demanding holding of interviews for various non teaching positions, Gupta expressed shock that the university is being run without any Assistant Registrar whereas there is large scale shortage of non teaching staff which is hampering development of the university. He said various youth of Rajouri Poonch have approached him who have applied for various posts of non teaching in the university but no interview has been held for the last many years.
He demanded the university to hold interviews in time bound period so that to make the institution more effective. Gupta also demanded posting of more professors and other teaching staff for improving educational standard.
Meanwhile Gupta visited University Polytechnic and accessed the overall functioning of the polytechnic.
University Vice Chancellor Prof Hamal and Registrar Mohd Rashid have assured MLC that they will take care of the suggestions made by him and implement the same on ground. University also thanked Gupta for showing keen interest in the development of this university.
