JAMMU: Senior leader and MLA Jammu East Constituency Rajesh Gupta on Tuesday distributed uniforms among Safaikaramcharis of Jammu Municipal Corporation at a function organised here at Town Hall.
In his welcome address Commissioner, JMC Kiran Wattal informed that it was long pending demand of Safaikaramcharis to provide winter uniform. Wattal lauded the role of Safaikaramcharis and committed to redress all the genuine issues of this section of employees related to their welfare and reiterated that it is the prime responsibility of the Corporation to keep Jammu neat and clean.
MLA Rajesh, in his address, lauded the role of Safaikaramcharis and assured that he will raise issues related to Safaikaramcharis before the concerned authorities. A total of 218 uniforms were distributed among Safaikaramcharis.
Naresh Kumar, Secretary, JMC, Assistant Commissioner (Rev), Executive Engineers, Health Officer, Special Assistant to Commissioner, Chief Transport Officer, Assistant Executive Engineers and other field staff of Corporation were also present.
Besides this, the Chief Enforcement Officers along with field staff of Enforcement Wing on the directions of Commissioner, Kiran Wattal conducted an anti-encroachment drive in which about 15 illegal structures being raised at Narwal Chowk on State land were demolished with the active assistance of police.
