JAMMU: MLA Jammu East Constituency, Rajesh Gupta on Thursday kick-started the up-gradation of lane project at Gali Old Post Office, Kanak Mandi Ward No. 11 here.
The up-gradation work was undertaken on public demand and the work included the laying of tiles in the area. The work would be completed at a cost of Rs. 3 lakh.
XEn Paramjeet Singh and J.E Ramesh Koul, who accompanied Rajesh Gupta, were given on spot instructions to complete the project expeditiously.
Later, Rajesh visited Malhotra Street to take stock of the problems being faced by the traders and residents of the area. Satinder Gupta, Chairman Malhotra Traders Association also accompanied the MLA.
On the spot instructions were given for the works related to lane, drain and gratings in the area.
Rajesh assured the people of the area that their genuine problems would be addressed in a time bound manner.
Those who were present on the occasion include Amarnath Gupta, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Sanjay Mahay, Subash, Ashwani, Govind Sareen, Dwarkanath, Hari Om, Raman, Pardeep, Sanjeev, Dinesh, Kuldeep and Ramesh.
