DODA: In his ongoing efforts to reach every area of Doda constituency, MLA Shakti Raj Parihar on Wednesday conducted extensive tour of Barshalla and Baag area of the district and redressed grievances of the people in a series of interactive camps held with them.
During interaction with the prominent citizens of the area people highlighted various demands and problems being faced by them which include road connectivity, lift irrigation facility, additional power transformers, drinking water supply among others.
Expressing concern over non-availability of road connectivity to the Barshalla region, Shakti Raj assured the people that the work on the road connecting the area will start in 10-15 days.
On the issue of lift irrigation facility, the MLA asked the Irrigation and Flood Control authorities to submit a proposal for lift irrigation project in this regard. Responding to the demand of the people of the Bagg area to augment power supply in the area, the MLA instructed the authorities to do the needful on war footing basis and asked them to provide the additional transformer so that the excessive load on the existing transformer could be catered.
The people of the area brought up various issues for immediate redressal which inter-alia include shortage of staff in rural schools and other government institutions, un-authorised absence of teachers from the school and availability of ration in CAPD stores .
Shakit Raj gave patient hearing and gave on the spot directions to the concerned officers of district administration who accompanied him on the tour. En route from Doda to Barshalla, deputations of large number of people from different areas met the MLA and raised various issues and demands which were redressed by issuing on spot instructions to the concerned authorities.
