Missing girl found hanging, Bandh call given to probe death

BHADARWAH: After police recovered body of a minor girl (17) who went missing two days back from a village in Bhadarwah, the people have given Bandh call for tomorrow alleging it as a murder.
Police has identified the victim as Class 12th student Anjali Devi, daughter of Chain Singh, resident of village Runta in Bhadarwah. The teenager was missing from her residence under mysterious circumstances since the evening of 16th March. A missing report was filed at Bhadarwah Police Station vide FIR No 22/2016 under Section 363 RPC. According to police, they recovered a body of a minor girl from Halyan Nallah near village Dharamkot Puneja.
“Some passersby noticed the body of a young girl hanging from a tree and reported the matter immediately to police,” said SHO Bhadarwah Jatinder Sambyal adding, “A police team was rushed to spot which took the custody of body and also collected circumstantial evidences from the crime spot.”
“After getting the autopsy done at Sub District Hospital Bhadarwah, we handed over the body to family members for last rites. Whether the girl has committed suicide or was hanged by someone else is still not clear,” added SHO saying that they have already started the investigation of any foul play into the death of young girl. According to sources, she had a tiff with her elder sister and mother on the day she went missing.
“Police has rounded up three to four persons for questioning and investigating the matter on fast track basis” a senior police officer said.
