Misappropriation of Govt funds;Ex-BMO, Warden KGBV, 3 others arrested

JAMMU: The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) on Friday arrested four accused including a former Block Medical Officer, a pharmacist and the then Warden Kastooba Gandhi Balika Vidiyalaya (KGBV) Boniyar for their involvement in two separate cases registered in the year 2014.
The Vigilance teams arrested Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Banday, Ex-BMO Beerwah, Mushtaq Ahmad Parray, Cashier and Zahoor Ahmad Banday pharmacist of Block Medical office Beerwah.
FIR 26/14 was registered under section 5(1) (c) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act Samvat 2006 and section 120/B RPC against these accused following allegations that during the year 2008 to 2011 they misappropriated government money/funds to the tune of Rs. 1.54 Crore meant for salary of employees and for implementation of different schemes.
In another case, the Vigilance teams arrested Sajad Ahmad Mir, the then Warden Kastooba Gandhi Balika Vidiyalaya (KGBV) Boniyar. FIR 29/2014 was registered under section 5(2) P.c. Act-2006 read with section 120-B RPC into the allegations that during the financial year 2013-14 government funds under SSA Scheme were misappropriated to the tune of over Rs.25.00 lakhs.
The Investigation in both the cases is going on for further course of action.
