Minor killed, six injured in road mishap

BANIHAL: A minor student was killed and six others including two teachers injured when the school van they were traveling in fell into a deep gorge in the Ramban district.
The van (JK19-2796) driven by one of the teachers was on its way to Magarkot from Khari village, when it fell into the gorge in Nachlana area on the Jammu- Srinagar National Highway, police officials told.
Mudasir Sharief, an Upper KG student, son of Hafiz Sharif Naik died while being shifted to hospital and the injured were admitted for specialised treatment, said police.
The injured were identified as Adnan Khalid (10) son of Khali Hamid, Zahid (7) son of Khurshed Ahmad , Umed (9) son of Nazir Ahmad and Abu Mohsin (7) son of Mohd Yousaf, all residents of Khari Seran whereas two teachers identified as Umed-ul-Rahman (22) son of Nazir Ahmed and Nawaz Ahmed (24) son of Mohd Ramzan both residents of Seran Khari.
