JAMMU: While BJP ministers are enjoying the cool climes in Srinagar, the party workers are facing rough weather in Jammu.
In the wake of peaking heat wave conditions large number of people, who are deprived of uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, are making life difficult for these junior leaders and party supporters.
Since BJP workers are running many whatsapp groups to stay in touch with local residents in their area they are flooded with requests for water tankers and schedule of power cuts.
Instead of providing them water tankers, the BJP workers have been left high and dry as they are not in a position to fulfill their demand on daily basis.
The BJP workers from old city area, Jammu West, Jammu East and rural pockets of RS Pura, Suchetgarh, Samba, Kathua, Billawar and Basohli have been informing senior party ministers about the growing anger among people but instead of resolving their genuine demand of ensuring regular supply of water and power the BJP ministers have been camping in Srinagar.
If anyone arrived here in Jammu, he took review meetings and passed necessary instructions to the senior officers to ensure adequate power and water supply to the majority population. On the other hand the people are angry with the approach of the junior BJP workers present in the field.
In the absence of concrete assurances from their party ministers these junior BJP workers have been carelessly responding to the requests of the consumers by snubbing them it is not possible for them to arrange water supply till next three- four days.
In some cases the BJP workers have been telling their voters since water tankers are defunct it is not possible to send the same. Interestingly, series of protest demonstrations have failed to wake up the alliance government to realise the gravity of the problem of water and power shortage. Till date the PDD has failed to come up with a schedule of load shedding like previous years. Same is true for PHE workers who can take help of media and other social media platforms to educate masses about the importance of preserving water and prevent its wastage.
