Minister suspends CAPD Storekeeper

SRINAGAR: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department made surprise visits in Srinagar City and outskirts during which a store keeper was
suspended and enquiry ordered in the shortage of foodgrains in Shalimar area. The minister visited various localities of Srinagar city and checked ration depots in Raj Bagh, Shalimar and Nishat area. During the surprise check, minister suspended Gulzar Ahmed, Store Keeper of Food Store Shalimar where he found shortage of ration. An enquiry was also ordered in this regard.
Meanwhile minister has said that the foodgrains supplied to the stores should not be dumped and these must be distributed well before the fixed dates among the consumers. He said that the department will take stern action against those who will show dereliction in duties. ‘I will neither spare those who will dump ration in store nor will tolerate shortages in the store’, he said instructing Director CAPD Kashmir to make regular surprise visits to the stores in order to check proper delivery of ration, LPG gas and K-oil.
