Minimum temperature drops in Kashmir

Srinagar: The night temperature at most places in Kashmir division dropped by several notches with Leh being the coldest place in the region at minus 9.1 degrees Celsius.
Kargil town recorded the minimum at minus 5.6 degrees Celsius. Srinagar, the summer capital of the state, had a low of minus 2 degrees Celsius, a MeT department official said.
The mercury in famous ski-resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir dropped to minus 2.4 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 4.6 degrees Celsius, the official said.
Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded the minimum at minus 3 degrees Celsius, while in Kokernag town in south it was 1 degree Celsius, he said.
Qazigund, which recorded the minimum at 1 degree Celsius, was the only place in the state where the night temperature increased as against Wednesday’s.
The weatherman said dry weather conditions will prevail in the state over the week ahead.
