Mini Bus operators reiterate hike in fare

JAMMU: Mini Bus Workers Union on Wednesday demanded exclusive terminal points and additional parking slots for the vehicles to ensure smooth traffic and reduce existing chaos from the roads of Jammu City.
The demands were projected in a meeting of the Union held here at its Panjtirthi office.
The meeting however slammed Jammu Municipal Corporation for demolishing the Mini Bus Stand at Panjtirthi Jammu without any notice. Union leaders Jagater Singh, Choudhary Raj Kumar and Jatinder Khajuria sought Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s intervention in addressing the demands projected by the Union.
Members Vijay Singh Chib, Naresh Kumar, Razak Choudhary, Om Parkash, Oupinder Singh and Bharat Bhushan raised the issue of hike in petroleum products, Spare parts, Insurance, Chassis, etc. “Transporters are suffering -very badly. Government should increase fare to save the transport Industry”, they demanded.
Sanjeev Singh, Omkar Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Mohinder Singh, Madan Lal Sharma, Vikram Dogra, Fupinder Kumar, Naveen Kumar, Shareef Hussain and Kaid Ali were also
present.
