Minerva Club Chandigarh defeats Stadium-XI Kathua in Police Martyrs T-20

KATHUA: Minerva Cricket Club Chandigarh defeated Stadium-XI Kathua by 40 runs in the league match of the ongoing Seventh Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship played at Sports Stadium, here on Wednesday.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Minerva Cricket Club set target of 194 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.
Gurkeerat Singh Maan played a fine inning of 68 runs off 42 balls followed by Manpreet Goni, who equally played well and scored 56 runs off 37 balls. Rompy of Stadium-XI Kathua was the successful bowlers who took three wickets.
In reply, Stadium -XI Kathua could not chase the target and managed to score 154 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 40 runs. Nishant was the top scorer with 40 runs off 29 balls. Gurkeerat Singh Maan and Rajinder shared two wickets each. Gurkeerat Singh Maan was declared Man of the Match and awarded with cash prize of Rs. 2,100 and a trophy by Narinder Sharma.
Another match played between Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur and Malik Sports Club Delhi ended with draw and for results super over will be played tomorrow.
Bating first Malik Sports Club set a target of 170 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Mohit played a fine knock of 104 runs off 68 balls with the help of seven sixes and ten boundaries. Amit and Harshit of Sabhi Cricket Club took three and two wickets respectively.
In reply, Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur also scored 170 runs in 20 overs and the match was ended with draw. Abhimanyu (64 off 42 balls) and Amit (40 off 39 balls) were the main scorers. Azarudin and Indiaz of Malik Sports Club shared two wickets each.
The result of the match could not be decided today due to bad light and super over will be played tomorrow morning.
