SRINAGAR:- A militant was Friday killed in an encounter with police in Soura area of the city, police said.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Abdul Gani Mir said militant was killed in retaliatory fire after gunmen attacked a police patrolling party.
The exchange of gunfire was on when the last reports came in.
The identity of the slain militant was not immediately ascertained.
The gunbattle comes just days ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city.
