Militant hideout busted in Poonch

POONCH: Keeping up the vigil, the security forces on Friday busted an old militant hideout at Charmar area of Surankote in district Poonch and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from an underground dump.
“Acting on a specific information, party of 16 RR and Surankote police headed by SHO Surankote under supervision of DySp Hqtr poonch Mohan Sharma launched a joint operation in the Charmar area, of surankote and seized a cache of arms and ammunition,” SSP Poonch J.S Johar informed.
Recoveries include Ak 56 -two, pistols Chinese- two, RPG gun- two, He 36 grenade- four, magazines AK-10,ammunition AK -302,LMG ammunition- 88,sniper ammunition- 12,wireless set damaged- one, bayonet cover- one, pistol magazines- three, pistols ammunition- two, M sixteen Rocket- two, motor 51 ammunition- one.
The recovery of war-like stores was possible only due to the synergy between Army and police and launching of well-synchronized joint operation.
Police have lodged FIR vide no 08/2017 under section 7/25,26/27 IAA, 120B RPC at Police Station Surankote and started investigations.
