JAMMU: All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) on Tuesday took serious note of the statement of Education Minister Altaf Bukhari accusing him of insulting Kashmiri Pandits to defame the migrant employees by terming them truant and threatening termination if they don’t resume duties in Valley.
Hundreds of employees led by King C Bharati, National Spokesperson APMCC gathered near Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioners Office here and submitted joining report at Relief Commissioner’s office saying government has failed to instill a sense of security among them and they need some time before resuming their duties in Valley.
Speaking on the occasion King C Bharati took serious note of insulting entire Kashmiri Pandit community by spreading falsehood and issuing open threats through media besides some of the officers using derogatory language against the migrant employees.
Seeking a clear blue print of the postings, security and accommodation facilities that the minister has promised through media, Bharati said that the employees who have not resumed their duties don’t have a sense of security there adding when the government was not able to secure its police, army officers, bank employees and Amarnath pilgrims how was Bukhari proposing to secure the employees who are soft targets now.
He said that while the Chief Minister had assured them that they won’t be forced to join before taking the employees representatives into confidence but issuing of open threats by the Education Minister is an indication that Kashmiri Pandits don’t figure in the scheme of things of BJP-PDP alliance government. He clarified that employees were ready to resume duties but not without getting a blue print how Govt was proposing to accommodate them adding for this the ministry should talk to the representatives of the employees first.
