MGNERGA employees demand enhancement in salary

UDHAMPUR: Youths engaged with Rural Development Department (RDD) Udhampur held a meeting under chairmanship of Kirpal Singh, and expressed their great concern towards Govt. for not paying due attention towards their genuine issues.
Speaking in the meeting contractual employees engaged under MGNERGA scheme said that in year 2007-08 Govt. of India has launched particular scheme in Udhampur and thereafter Govt. has given extension every year but they were being given very nominal salary. It was disclosed that despite their repeated request Govt. has not enhanced their salary and they urged the Govt. to implement SRO-255 in true spirit to extend benefits.
All employees working under MGNERGA scheme demanded their regularisations as much of the youth have reached at the verge of over age and have no other source of income. Later daily contractual employees forward a representation to concerned MP for early redresses.
