Mehbooba’s wait appreciable if she says ‘bye-bye’ to BJP: Rashid
STATE TIMES NEWS
SRINAGAR: Independent legislator and MLA Langate Er Rashid on Monday advised the Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti against forming the government in haste.
“Any well-wisher of Kashmiris should not force or compel Mehbooba to form the government in haste under (the) current circumstances,” said Rashid, according to a statement issued here.
Though people deserve a popular government, Rashid said, “Addressing their political aspirations and protecting their rights is far more important than other all issues”.
“It should not be the primary question whether a civilian govt. runs the show or someone else, as in any case the govt. machinery has to be the same, but the elected govt. has to project and resolve the aspirations of the people and if sincere can force New Delhi for an honourable solution to the dispute,” he said.
Accusing the BJP of “leaving no stone unturned to bury the Kashmir issue”, Rashid said: “BJP has forced the PDP to go defensive. The act of time being consumed by Mehbooba Mufti for govt. formation will be appreciable if she uses the opportunity to say bye-bye to BJP.”
