JAMMU: Media-XI on Saturday defeated the Hindi Newspapers-XI by a margin of 36 runs in the friendly cricket match which was played here at Railway Ground Jammu.
After winning the toss, Media-XI team, led by Yash Khajuria decided to bat first. In 16 overs’ match, the team registered a total score of 137 on the screen with highest 46 runs’ inning of Sunil Thappa in 22 balls with seven fours and two sixes. The second highest scorer of the team was Ashu who scored 24 runs in 14 balls.
Takdeer Singh and Naveen of Hindi Newspapers-XI took two wickets each for the team.
Chasing the target, the Hindi Newspapers-XI team could score only 101 runs in 16 overs.
Nitin was the highest scorer with 26 runs while Rupesh made 19 runs. Rahul of Media-XI took two wickets.
Sunil Thappa was declared as Man of the Match for his match winning knock.
