KATHUA: SDM Billawar Rajesh Basotra on Wednesday convened a meeting with senior officers of various departments to discuss the flood control measures being put in place in the Tehsil.
The SDM impressed upon the officers from Flood Control, Irrigation, Revenue, Health and Education Departments and Block Development Officer to ensure that all relief and rehabilitation measures are in place to face natural calamity during the rainy season. He directed the Flood Control Department to coordinate with heads of educational institutions and other line departments to make accommodation readily available in case of any eventuality. During the meeting Quick Response Teams (QRT) comprising of concerned Tehsildar, BDOs, SHO and Incharge Police Posts were constituted at block levels for coordinating action during floods.
It was decided in the meeting that Control Rooms will be established in the Office of AEE Flood Control Sub Division Billawar and another at Police Station, Billawar to continuously monitor the flood situation.
AEE, Flood Control, Irrigation, Dy CEO, Tehsildars Billawar, Ramkot, BMO besides officers of line departments were also present in the meeting.
