UDHAMPUR: Municipal Committee Udhampur (MCU) organised a series of awareness cum cleanliness drive here in all 17 wards of town on Wednesday. Drive was launched under the supervision of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) K.L Chalotra and being the first day of drive Safaikarmacharis launched the cleanliness cum awareness drive from Ward No.1 Udhampur and thereafter it will continue ward wise up to 17 wards.
Talking to the STATE TIMES, CEO Chalotra said that drive was launched in Udhampur in order to create awareness among the people and to make city clean adding that the cleanliness of the town is never possible until local people extend their support and cooperation to MCU. He added that there is a need to develop civic sense among the public and as part of this cleanliness cum awareness drive has been launched in Udhampur.
A large number Safaikaramcharis removed the decaying heaps of the garages lying the Ward No.1 and made the area clean.
