MBBS, Nursing students from GMC Rajouri attend BLS/ACLS Workshop at SMVDIME

KATRA: A comprehensive workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) was conducted on Saturday at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME), Kakryal, near here.

The training was delivered by AHA-certified trainers from SMVDIME and its associated hospital, under the guidance of Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Executive Director, SMVDIME.
Dr. Sharma in his welcome address, emphasised the critical importance of timely life-saving interventions and the need for continuous professional development to ensure medical practitioners remain current and competent in their field.
Dr. Amarjeet Singh Bhatia, Principal, Government Medical College (GMC), Rajouri, highlighted the necessity of regular hands-on training and strict adherence to the latest resuscitation protocols.
The Senior dignitaries including Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB; Alok Kumar Maurya, Additional CEO, SMVDSB; Satish Sharma, Joint CEO, SMVDSB; M.M. Mathavan, Facility Director, SMVDNSH; Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Dean, SMVDIME; along with Heads of Departments and faculty members also interacted with the participants and commended the initiative for strengthening essential life-saving competencies among future healthcare professionals.
The workshop curriculum blended evidence-based theoretical knowledge with high-fidelity simulation exercises, covering critical aspects such as CPR, airway management, trauma response, and team coordination.
The training sessions were led by a distinguished team of AHA-certified faculty including Dr. Vanilla Chopra, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Anaesthesia, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Senior Consultant, Department of Medicine, Dr. Sushant Kumar, Senior Consultant, Department of Cardiology, Dr. Summit Dev Bloria, Assistant Professor, Department of Anaesthesia.
A total of 43 participants, comprising MBBS and Nursing students from GMC Rajouri, successfully completed the training and were awarded certificates of participation.
The workshop was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Shalini Sobti, In-Charge, Skill & Simulation Lab, SMVDIME, along with the Skill Lab Committee, ensuring a seamless, interactive, and enriching learning experience for all attendees.
