JAMMU: Rajinder Sharma, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday. He apprised the Lt Governor on various public welfare issues and important matters related to Municipal Corporation. Raman Bhalla, former Minister met the Lt Governor and projected concerning issues of various sections of society including of POJK refugees and Daily wagers. Bhalla Jammu and Kashmir had opted for CUET this year for admission in various undergraduate courses in the UT. However, thousands of students and parents are in distress after their centres have been allotted in Punjab and Haryana. He said that students living in remote areas of J&K are facing a lot of difficulty, it is not possible for many students to give tests from one state to another. He appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to pay heed to this decision and change the policy without losing time. Sukhnandan Choudhary, former Minister also called on the Lt Governor and put forth various issues of public importance. The Lt Governor while interacting with the Mayor JMC and former Ministers assured them that the issues will be looked into earnestly for early redressal.
