BHADARWAH: A deputation of public of Marwah in Kishtwar Distt through Sarpanch of Changer Ghulam Mohd, Sarpanch of Nowpachi-B Ghulam Mustafa, Sarpanch Deherna-A Ghulam Ali and NGO YDWS Marwah met ARTO Kishtwar to draw his attention towards genuine demand of public of Marwah regarding huge fare of Tata Sumo and other commercial vehicles plying on the roads of this hilly area.
They apprised ARTO Kishtwar about huge fares to Marwah, Warwan which is increased day by day by the vehcile owners on their own.
They also informed that the Govt rate is Rs 2.33/km, the distance between Marwah to Kishtwar is 122km so the total fare to Marwah is Rs. 248 but the commercial vehicle operators charge Rs. 800 and Vailoo to Marwah is 58 km so the fare should be Rs.130.48 but they charge Rs. 200-300 per passenger.
While informing about the overloading on this route they apprised ARTO that instead of seven passengers allowed to the Tata Sumo and other commercial vehicles they always carry more than 12 passengers which is totally against the rules and dangerous for the passengers.
ARTO Kishtwar patiently heard the grievances of these people and assured that necessary action should be taken against the defaulters for overloading.
