SRINAGAR: The Enforcement squad headed by Assistant Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Kashmir conducted market inspections from 9th to 28th May, 2015 in the Srinagar city and booked erring traders for violating Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

The markets of Batmaloo, Bemina, Barbar Shah, Malla Bagh, Soura, Saidpora, Botanical Garden, Brane, Ishbar, Baba Demb, Saida Kadal, Habak, Awanti Bhawan, Gagribal, Nishat etc. were inspected during the process.

During the inspection, 220 business establishments were inspected and Rs. 25,000 were recovered as fine from 33 erring shopkeepers. One mutton shop stands also sealed at Buchpora for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
