Many rescued from Chenab Valley region: Saroori
KISHTWAR: Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori on Tuesday in a message to people of erstwhile Doda District, said dozens stranded people from Chenab Valley region including Kishtwar (Inderwal), Doda and Ramban who were trapped in Rajbagh, Sonwar, Googji Bagh, Bemina, Hyder Pura, Lal Chowk, Old Gagribal, TRC Srinagar, Circuit House, MLA Hostel Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir Valley have been rescued by Indian Army Force in collaboration of civil administration.
Saroori said he has already contacted army, civil administration and national Disaster Response Force (NDRF) for shifting of remaining people to safer army camps. He said he is trying his level best for rescuing the remaining stranded people from Chenab Valley in the flood hit area Kashmir.
He has also lauded the role of army, IAF who with coordination of civil administration have rescued 43,000 people so far in the flood-hit areas and have shifted hundreds of people to Jammu.
Saroori also appealed to the people that with the preventive measures they should also hold special prayers to get rid of this situation because the Almighty Allah is all powerful and can do anything. “Sometimes the disasters are the result of the evil deeds of the human beings and the only way to get rid from this is to surrender before Almighty Allah and ask for pardon for our sins,” Saroori said.
