Manohar flays BJP for politicising surgical strikes
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Former Minister and PCC General Secretary, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma criticised BJP Government for talking credit of surgical strikes which is solely a brave step of soldiers of Indian Army.
Manohar saluted the brave soldiers of Indian Army who show utmost courage and determination while dealing with the proxy war and also hailed their valour during the surgical strikes done several times to keep the sanctity of borders irrespective of the repeated attempts made by the Pakistan Army.
In public meetings at Village Thara Kalyal and Mangloor in Billawar Constituency, Manohar while accusing BJP-PDP Government for neglecting the martyrdom of soldiers, who attained supreme sacrifice, namely Karnail Singh and Ravi Paul in Uri terror attack, Mulk Raj at Pathankot Air Base attack and Nb Sub Ram Singh in Assam militant attack said that the ruling dispensation has not taken care of these martyrs who gave supreme sacrifice for the motherland.
“Nothing has been paid by the Government of J and K to the families of these martyrs even after hue and cry by different political and social organisations. The martyrs from other states of India have got due regard and financial help to the tune of more than Rs 20 lakh which has been paid to the kin of martyrs. Why the BJP leadership including 25 MLAs and ministers from Jammu are silent over the issue and where their nationalism stands now?,” he questioned.
The people of Mangloor and Thara Kalyal areas of Billawar Constituency demanded immediate release of Rs 25 lakh as ex-gratia for the martyred soldiers and employment to one member of the bereaved families so that the families of martyrs do not suffer in future.
Among others who attended the meeting include Sarpanch Shiv Kumar Sharma, Puran Chand, Karan Singh, Budhi Singh, Romesh Sapolia, Sham Sapolia, Hans Raj and Chairman Panchayat Thara Kalyal.
