Mann on his way to Valley stopped at Lakhanpur

KATHUA: All India President of Shiromani Akali Dal Simranjeet Singh Mann and 50 party activists were today detained and stopped from going to Kashmir at inter-state toll plaza at Lakhanpur, district Kathua.
The activists, led by Mann, in half a dozen vehicles, were on their way to Kashmir from Amritsar and were detained at Lakhanpur by the District Police said. The activists staged a protest at Lakhanpur while raising slogans to restore peace and stop atrocities in Kashmir. Mann also condemned using of pellet gun on protesters in Kashmir which led to the death of over four dozen persons.
He said that they were going to Kashmir with a message of peace and want to talk to all sections of society, government, general public and Hurriyat Conference as other political parties have failed to restore peace in the State.
