NPP Supremo warns CM, demands immediate release or face consequences
UDHAMPUR: Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party has strongly condemned the illegal arrest and detention of Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA, Udhampur who is also State President of JKNPP this morning in Udhampur while he was sitting on indefinite fast at Salathia Chowk, Udhampur demanding release to the flood affected people and their immediate rehabilitation.
He is also demanding stern action against Dy. Commissioner, Udhampur who has refused to pick up relief material from the train which was sent by the Chief Minister of Chhatisgarh for flood affected people. Nearly 25,000 metric tones of food grains have been rotting at the railway station and now they are stinking and no more worth consuming. The Dy. Commissioner, Udhampur also sealed the relief which was sent by Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Amritsar on 1st October and refused to distribute it to the flood affected people of the area.
Mankotia has been sitting on fast unto death in Udhampur. Hundreds of Panthers Party workers have joined him. The police arrested him this morning while he took out a procession in support of his demands with nearly 5,000 JKNPP workers in Udhampur. Mankotia was arrested and detained and later removed to hospital in Udhampur where he has been kept in isolation.
Prof. Bhim Singh has warned the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah of dire consequences if Mankotia is not released immediately and treated at Govt. Medical College Hospital, Jammu. He also demanded stern action against Udhampur administration particularly the Dy. Commissioner who has intentionally and deliberately committed a criminal offence by allowing the relief material to go waste and further refused to distribute it to the affected people in Udhampur District. He charged Dy. Commissioner for the death of 27 persons in Sadal village who were not provided timely help to be rescued while their village was sliding and they had been shouting for help for three days. Prof.Bhim Singh said that it is criminal act of the administration that dead body of 27 persons of village Sadal have not been traced till today.
Prof. Bhim Singh spoke to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Governor N.N. Vohra, the Union Home Secretary and several other important officials in the South and North Block, New Delhi who matter seeking their urgent intervention to ensure that Governor Rule is imposed in J and K so that the people could be saved from further death and destruction.
