Mankotia demands compensation for flood victims

BATOTE: State President, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, Balwant Singh Mankotia along with State Secretary Panthers Trade Union (PTU), Parshotam Parihar attended cremation of all the children who died yesterday due to flash flood in Batote area of Ramban District.
Handing over Rs 5,000 to all three families, who lost their children as an immediate relief, Mankotia demanded Rs 10 lakh each as compensation.
Mankotia also visited all flood affected areas of both Udhampur and Ramban Districts.
Farmers of affected areas told JKNPP leaders that 80 per cent of their land and crops have been damaged due to heavy flash flood.
They blamed that none of government officials has visited in their area.
While meeting local residents of the area at Kandari Nallah, Mankotia demanded immediate release of fertiliser, seeds and three months free ration to them.
Mankotia also demanded that government should send revenue officials to assess the loss of crops as well as agriculture land.
He threatened the government that if within week’s time the demands of farmers are not solved Panthers will be forced to take agitation.
