JAMMU: Launching a scathing attack on the series of obnoxious dozes of discrimination being administered clandestinely to the Jammu region, Balwant Singh Mankotia, President JKNPP lambasted the recent preview of bias extending to the eligibility criteria for the B.Ed admissions for the year 2015-16 vis-à-vis Jammu Division in comparison to Kashmir Division.
Mankotia told reporters that the duration of the B.Ed course in the University of Kashmir and the Central University of Kashmir is one year for the session 2015-16 and the duration of the said course in the University of Jammu has been revised to two years thus putting the career of the teacher aspirants of Jammu Pradesh in jeopardy.
Moreover, he said, the eligibility criteria for the B.Ed course in the University of Kashmir is Graduation in any discipline with 45 per cent marks in General category and 40 per cent marks in Reserved category as compare to Graduation in any discipline with 50 per cent marks in General category and 45 per cent marks in Reserved category as prescribed in the norms of University of Jammu.
Mankotia further revealed that pal of gloom descended on the youth when the ruthless dispensation under the garb of new Recruitment policy ordered a capricious and unwarranted termination of reportedly 62,000 temporary workers rendering their services on paltry monthly wages in various government departments.
He regretted that rather than regularizing them after having used their services for years, they were being thrown out which was worst kind of exploitation besides pushing their families and dependents to starvation.
Mankotia also highlighted the plight of the 2013 session KAS aspirants who have been awaiting their appointment letters to be issued since August 2014.
He added that 99 candidates had been selected for the posts advertised in the PSC notification of 2013 from all across the State, out of which nearly 70 incumbants are from Jammu who are facing the wrath of discrimination doled out to them by the unholy BJP-PDP ruling combine.
“Ironically, Saffron Party’s honeymoon with the ministerial berths continued at the cost of the aspirations of the youth and the day is not far when the seething outrage of the people would burst and blow the Saffron brigade to smithereens and close the curtains for them once and for all”, Mankotia lamented.
